Frequently asked questions
Does my data sync between my iPhone and iPad?
No. Your data is stored only on each device, nothing is uploaded to any cloud. That's a deliberate privacy choice: data that never leaves your device can never leak. It does mean an iPhone and an iPad each keep their own separate envelopes.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. Still Within Premium is a one-time purchase. Pay once and unlimited envelopes are yours forever, on every device signed in with your Apple Account.
I bought Premium. How do I unlock it on my new or second device?
Open the upgrade screen (menu → Upgrade to Premium) and tap "Restore Purchases". As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with, Premium unlocks immediately and for free.
How do I export my data?
Each envelope can be exported to CSV from its detail screen, and you can export all envelopes at once from the menu on the home screen. The CSV opens in Numbers, Excel, or any spreadsheet app.
What counts toward the free limit of 5 envelopes?
Active and upcoming envelopes count. Ended and archived envelopes don't, so your history never blocks you from creating new budgets.
Can I add expenses to an envelope that has ended?
Yes. You can always add forgotten expenses after an envelope ends, as long as the expense date falls within the envelope's period.
How do shared expenses work?
Mark an expense as shared and choose how many people split it. Your budget only counts your share, and the app tracks the pending settlement, what others owe you, separately.
Is my financial data safe?
Your data never leaves your device, so it's protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). We recommend keeping regular device backups enabled, they include the app's data. See the privacy policy for details.
